Phil is an experienced teacher, Literacy Co-ordinator, tutor and phonics trainer.  

She has taught Literacy across the whole of the Primary Age Range and specialises in teaching struggling readers. She currently works as a reception teacher in a Foundation Stage Unit within a large Primary School. 

Phil uses Phonics International resources to support her teaching, alongside a range of high-quality decodable reading books and a variety of other synthetic phonics resources. 

Phil believes that all children can and must be taught to read in the first few years of their schooling, and is driven by the desire to train other teachers to provide the best standard of reading instruction possible. 

Phil is married with two young children and lives in Derby.
